Isabella Rose Spina

Isabella was a beautiful young woman who could light up a room with her bright presence.  With her signature announcement upon her arrival, she grabbed your attention and held onto it.

Bella was born in Munster, Indiana, October 28, 1997. She spent her early years growing up in Munster and the Bronx, New York. Bella attended the New York Harbor School in New York City and Coral Gables High School in Florida.  She recently returned to Munster and was studying medical coding while working as a guest services agent at Homewood Suites in Munster.

Singing karaoke was one of Bella's favorite past times. She didn't believe her inability to carry a tune was a reason to hold back during a performance. Her last birthday wish was for her mother to join her on stage and she dreamed of the day her family would have the courage to do so.

Bella left us suddenly and peacefully on November 5th, 2021. The following day a Donate Life flag was flown to honor Bella and her gift of life at the same hospital where she was born just 24 years earlier.  A light like hers has to keep burning. Prayers go with her gift of life to those she helps.

Bella knew she was loved by her family and friends and most affectionately by her dog, Delilah.  Bella is survived by her devoted and loving parents Mary Spina, Tom (Serena) Spina; dear brother Dante; step-brothers Rafael Figueroa and Branden Hernandez; adoring grandparents Joanne Blaesing, Michael and Anna Marie Spina; many doting aunts and uncles who think the world of her; and cousins who love her as a sister.  Preceded in death by her grandfather Jerome Blaesing and her puggle Peyton.

Bella will forever be missed and remembered. Her lust for life and fearless living will guide us as we memorialize her and celebrate her life later this spring. In keeping with her last birthday wish we will sing karaoke for her.
