Jack Yelinich,
age 87, of Highland, IN, passed away on Wednesday May 21, 2014. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon; sister, Anne (late Anthony) Lacko of Highland; brother in law, Donald (Pam) Wisler of Highland; sister in law, Yevonne Wisler of Highland; several dear nieces and nephews; special caregiving nieces and nephews, Mary (late Rudy) Plesha, Pam (Bob) Lacko-Kelley, Tommy Kennedy; many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and neighbors. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Katherine "Kata" Yelinich; Sisters, Mary (late Joe) Plesha, Millie (Tom) Kennedy; brothers, John, Peter, and Paul Yelinich; and several special nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 27, 2014, 10:30 AM DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3025 Highway Ave., Highland, IN 46322 with Rev. Edward J. Moszur officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Service. Jack will entombed at St. John, St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, IN. A visitation will be held on Monday May 26, 2014 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375 (Corner Main & Kennedy) from 3-8 PM.
Jack was a graduate of Washington High School in East Chicago, and was an United States Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Ironworkers Local #395, Croatian Lodge #170 also a former "Haborite", and Independent Order of Foresters. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, St. Jude Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 would be appreciated.
