JACQUELYN JEAN KIND nee WESTERHOFF "JACKIE"

age 66, of Hammond, passed away peacefully at Munster Community Hospital on Thursday, September 3, 2015 surrounded by family. Jackie is survived by her husband Donald Kind; children: Tina Segers, Shawn Johnson and Kristine (fiancé Wayne Earl) Jentsch; step children Cheryl (Brian) Thompson and Tracy Kind; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: JoAnn (Ike) Davidson, Joyce (Joe) Strong and Jeanette Ferguson; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Eugene and LaVerne Westerhoff, grandson Charles M. Johnson, sisters Jill Westerhoff and Janice Sullivan.

Jackie was born on October 28, 1948 in Blue Island, IL and was raised in Lansing. She graduated from T.F. South in 1967 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Management from Calumet College in 1994. Jackie was a former employee of Strack & VanTil's. Jackie was a strong and a generous spirit to all and cherished the time spent with her loving family.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond, IN. Friends and family are invited to share memories on Tuesday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in Jackie's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society.
