James J. Horejs "Jim"

Highland, IN, formerly of Cedar Lake, IN

Passed away Monday, May 1, 2018 peacefully at home.  Jim is the son of the late Rose and James Horejs. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Carole Deany-Horejs; sons, James (Sylvia) Harris, Robert (Angela) Horejs; stepson, Ron (Kori) Deany; grandchildren, Cassie (Ian)  Anderson, Neal Harris, Daina Harris, Zachary and Ana Horejs; great grandchildren, Ella, Carter, Hudson Anderson. Jim is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy; daughter, Laura; and stepson, Rob Deany.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., (corner of Kennedy and Main St.) Schererville, IN from 2:00 to 8:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 8, 2018 DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Consolation, 8303 Taft St, Merrillville, IN 46410 with Rev. Peter J. Muha officiating.  James will lie in state at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service, and be laid to rest after at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville, IN.

Jim was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.  He was a member of the American Legion post #180 of Highland, and longtime parishioner of Our Lady Of Consolation Catholic Church.  He was an owner and retired from Charles Gluth & Sons Roofing.
