James M. Karczewski
age 45, of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Jim was preceded in death by his father James "Big Jim" in 1988 and followed in death by his mother Maryann on August 25, 2017. Survived by his sisters: Christy Karczewski, Sandy (Jeff) Parsons and Lynda Karczewski; niece Ashley Crouch and nephew Jeffery Parsons; uncles and aunts: Ray (Carol) Dudek, John (Sandy) Dudek and Patty (Steve) Crockett; Patricia Hood, June Morin; Thomas (Rosalie) Karczewski; many cousins; his puppies: Lily, Ruby and Honey; kitties: Stanley, Frankie and Cleo.
Jim was larger than life, everything he did was big. A true gentleman who possessed a heart of gold, a kind nature and man who could always, without question, be counted on by his family and friends. The world will never know another Jim Karczewski. His greatest loves in life were photography, computers, woodworking, his fur babies and his mama. The family and friends Jim leaves behind are heartbroken to lose him yet grateful to have known him and blessed to carry his memory on.
Friends may gather to celebrate Jim's life on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 4:00-9:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 7109 Calumet Ave in Hammond. (additional parking is available behind the funeral home directly North across 171st St.) In lieu of flowers donations to the family would be appreciated.
