James P. McDonald

age 80 of Saint John, IN formerly of Dolton, IL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday November 9, 2017.  James is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Shirley; children Kathleen Pritchard, Kimberly Slater, James G. (Sheri) McDonald, Paul (Kelli) McDonald; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers: Robert (Marlene) McDonald, Lee (late Joyce) McDonald, Michael McDonald, sister Shirley Mangione; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. Preceded in death by his daughter Audrey McDonald.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave. Schererville, IN (corner Main & Kennedy) with Deacon Raymond Helfen officiating. Cremation at Solan Pruzin to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home.

Jim retired from the railroad with 42 years of service and he served his country in the US Air Force. ln lieu of flowers donations may be made to hospice of the calumet area.
