James "Jim" O. DeRolf, age 79, of Crown Point, IN formerly of Dyer, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Fran (nee Santana); children, Jean (Scott) and Brian (Gia); aunts, Jerry and Mary Ellen Scheive; goddaughters, Lisa (Santana)Rivera and Raquel (Araujo)Santos; numerous brothers in laws, sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Dessie DeRolf; twin sister, Jean; sister, Dorothy; in laws, Ignacio and Margarita Santana; sister-in-law, Trini Santana, brothers in law, Ron Hrebenyak, Phillip and John Santana and his beloved dog, Apollo.

Jim was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Inland Steel with forty years of service. His favorite way to spend his time was traveling with his family.  He loved to listen to classic country music, go to the movies, sharpen his skills with word searches and visit Vegas Casinos. He loved his pets, Midnight, Apollo, Brutus and Thor; who he spent countless hours caring for.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 12PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.  Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until the time of service at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arthur B. & Ethel V.
