James "Jimmy" S. Vaughn

age 71, of Highland, IN passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Stephanie Vaughn (nee Adamko); brother, Thomas Vaughn; sister, Patricia Kille; mother in law, Rose Adamko; aunts, Marge Osborne and Julie (Ed) Tancos, Gerry (late Steve) Riebe; many cousins; special cousins, Lisa and Johnny who were always there when he needed them; great neighbors, Nick and Thea Camel. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ann Vaughn.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN (corner of Kennedy Ave. and Main St.) with a 7:00 PM Parastas.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 8103 Columbia Ave., Munster, IN with Fr. Steven Koplinka officiating. Jimmy will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service and a private burial will take place at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond, IN at a later date.

Jimmy was a United States Army Veteran. "Dr. Chu" was known to many for his golf; his number one love. He enjoyed mentoring young men in the game. He loved teaching golf and always helped if he saw your swing wasn't just right. When he made you a golf club, he always made sure you knew how to use it. So guys, keep your clubs clean in honor of Jimmy.  His family would like to thank Unity Hospice for the great care they gave Jim. Especially his "girls" Tamu, Diane, Dana, and Deana.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
