Janet "Janina" Misiak (nee Wojewoda)

age 89, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She is survived by her children, Marion (Beth) Misiak and Lillian Misiak; grandchildren: Danny (Mallory), Katie, and Sabrina; three great-grandchildren: Izzy, Frank, and Teddy; extended family in Poland; many nieces and nephews; friends Frank and Katherine Chrobak and many other dear friends. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Joseph; parents, Tekla and Joseph; and siblings.

Janina came to America with her husband on December 11, 1964. She was a member of St. John Bosco Church. She worked for Simmons Mattress in Munster, Maruszczak's Sausage in Hammond, and MJ Polish Deli in Hammond. Janina enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking as well as gardening.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 7109 Calumet Ave., HAMMOND, IN. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 27, DIRECTLY at St. John Bosco Church, 7113 Columbia Avenue, Hammond, with Fr. Jeffrey D. Burton officiating. Janina will lie-in-state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.
