Jean Poulos, 96, of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away on December 11, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonidas and Alexandria Liakopoulos; and her brother, Alexander Liakopoulos.

Jean retired from Prudential Insurance in downtown Chicago after many years of service. She was a Church Organist for 75+ years. She started at age 14 at OLG Church on Deodar Street in East Chicago, Indiana. She was a Cantor at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Munster, Indiana. She was also an Organist at St. Catherine's Interfaith. She was a Choir Member at St. John's in Whiting, Indiana and at St. Stan's in East Chicago, Indiana. She was a member  St. Stan's Sodality in East Chicago. Jean was a Hospital Volunteer at St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago, Indiana for 63 years (1957-2020).

Jean was a devout Catholic with a strong connection to her Church and its community. She lived her life as a generous and caring Christian. In her own words: "I have fought the good fight. I have kept the faith. I was proud of my Greek heritage – the food, the dancing and the music."

Jean is survived by her sister-in-law, Demetria Liakopoulos; her nieces, Maria (Jeff) Wilson of Medina, Ohio, Jenny Margaris of Chicago, Illinois, and Christina Liakopoulos of Scottsdale, Arizona; along with great nephew, Scott Wilson, and great nieces, Nicole Wilson, Christina (Carlos) Favela, and Anastasia Margaris.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 19, 2025 DIRECTLY AT St. Stanislaus Church, 808 W 150th St, East Chicago, IN 46312 with Rev. Jeffrey Burton officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
