Jerome "Jerry" H. Blaesing

Age 83, of Munster, IN passed away peacefully Thursday, June 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Joanne (nee Langenberg); 7 children, Patty Blaesing, Donna (Jay) Hanson, Carol (Michael) Kirincic, Julie (Keith) Brunini, Bob (Adriane) Blaesing, Barb Blaesing, Mary Spina; devoted "dog daughter", Susie; grandchildren, Daniel, Melissa, Christopher, Matthew, Natalie, Benjamin, Maria Lisa, Abraham, Luke, Isabella, and Dante; sister, Joyce (Donald) Fett; brother in law, William (Carol) Langenberg; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mary Elizabeth Blaesing.

A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 DIRECTLY at St. James The Less Catholic Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave., Highland, IN 46322 with Rev. Keith M. Virus officiating. Jerry will lie in state at the church Tuesday morning from 9:30 am until time of service, and will be laid to rest directly after at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN (corner of Kennedy and Main) 46375 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 4:30 PM prayer service.

Jerry was a 1951 graduate of Leo Catholic High School, in Chicago, IL and  1955 graduate of St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN.  He was the owner of B & B Industrial Instruments of Hammond, IN. Jerry had sung in St. Thomas More Choir and the NWI Symphony, and he sang in the St. James The Less Choir.  He also played trumpet and sang and in his own band "Twi-Liters". He was a member of the Elks, and Knights of Columbus Counsel #8080 of St. James. He loved listening to jazz, studying geology, researching on the computer, and playing golf.
