Joe Sila

CROWN POINT, IN.

age 58, of Crown Point, IN passed away on March 3,

2019. He loved his family and friends fiercely. He was a kind

man with a huge heart who enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs

and bringing joy to people through his cooking any chance he

got.

Joe was born on May 11, 1960 in Verbanska Draga, Croatia. He

worked for 30 years as a master chef and restaurant owner,

most recently at Joe's Café in Crown Point, IN.

Joe is survived by his two sons, Joseph (Claire) Sila and Tony

(Lindsey) Sila; two grandchildren, Fisher and Esther Sila;

ex-wife and mother of his children, Jenny Loper; brother, John

(Kathy) Sila; sister, Ana (Joseph) Stankovich; brother, Steven

(Kathy) Sila. Kind uncle of Debbie & Diana Sila, Dr. Joseph

Stankovich, Jr. and Zdravko, Vesna and Sylvia Sila.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Mara and Stjepan Sila.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019

at 11:00 AM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave. (corner of Kennedy and Main St.), Schererville, IN 46375.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
