John Francis "Papa" Burns age
67, of Highland, IN passed
away Monday, March 14, 2016.
He is survived by his loving
children: Michael Dugan
(Melissa) Burns, Joanna (late
Angelo) Badillo; grandchildren:
Jillian Badillo, Michael Dugan
Burns Jr., Madison Gail Burns;
sisters: Joyce (Bill) Adams,
Patricia Burns, and Noreen
Burns; beloved uncle of many
nephews and nieces; cousins;
and soul mate brothers: Stanley
Machaj, Pat Logue, and Art
Reyna. John is preceded in
death by Gail Perez Burns; parents,
Kathryn and John Burns;
sister, Mary Catherine Burns;
and brother, Timothy Burns.
A Funeral Service will be held
on Fri day, March 18, 2016 at
3:00 p.m. at So lan Pruzin Funeral
Home, 14 Kennedy Ave,
(corner of Main and Kennedy)
Schererville, IN 46375 with
Msgr. Joseph Semancik officiating.
Friends may visit with
the family on Friday March 18,
2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m.
John was a 1967 graduate of
Bishop Noll. He was a Navy
Veteran from Viet nam. John
retired after of 42 years of service
from LTV and Mittal Steel.
He was a die hard Cubs and
Notre Dame fan, and enjoyed
fishing and golfing. John was a
true Irishman with a twinkle in
his eyes and a joke on his lips.
He always made you laugh, and
always had a smile on his face.
He was a good person. An excellent
dad, grandfather,
brother and friend. I know he is
up up in Heaven with his true
love, Gail. Until we meet again
may God hold you in the palm
of His hand. In lieu of flowers,
