John L. Orndorff

age 69, of Merrillville, IN formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019. John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy; sons, Jack (Patricia) Orndorff of Hammond, Jason (Jennifer) Orndorff of Hammond and Jeremy Orndorff of Lakes of the Four Seasons; daughter, Christine (John) Sifuentes of Carpentersville, IL; grandchildren, Anthony (Valerie), Jack (Veronica), Amanda, Alex, Jason Jr., Samantha, Jeremy Jr. and Cady; great grandchildren, Connor, Maddy, Alivia, Jared, Damian, Adrian, Amaiyah, Dominic and Miles; mother, Dora Sims; brothers, Roger (Margaret) Orndorff and Steven Sims; sister, Jeanie Orndorff; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Orndorff; and brother, Preston (still living, Louise) Orndorff.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond, IN with Fr. Richard Orlinski officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 2:00 - 8:00 PM.

John was an owner and operator of trucking services and enjoyed telling trucking stories. A "Outlaw legend". He enjoyed fishing, playing Keno and working on old cars. John was a loving grandfather and great grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
