In Loving Memory of John Pena

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Pena, who left us on February 5, 2024, at the age of 62. He departed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

Preceded in death by his parents Jose and Mary Pena, brothers Raymond and George Sotelo, and sisters Sarah Leal and Olivia Favela.

John Pena is survived by his children Rachael, Michelle, Johnny, Nicole (Rob) Bews, and Eli Kookich, his grandchildren Madelyn and Julie and 8 other cherished grandchildren, his brothers Richard (Esperanza), Edward (Audrey), and Raul Sotelo, his sisters Aurora (Miguel) Favela and Ophelia (Antonio) Alvarez, dear friend and companion Sharon, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and friends.

John will always be remembered as a person who touched many lives with his kindness, selflessness, generosity, and full-heart.

The family wishes to inform friends and loved ones that there will be no services held at this time. In keeping with John's wishes, we are planning a memorial to celebrate John's life at a future date. Further details will be provided as arrangements are made. We appreciate your love, support, and understanding during this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's memory to the Hospice of the Calumet.
