JOSEPH B. SANDOVAL
age 91, of East Chicago, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Joseph is survived by his children: Christopher Sandoval, Laura Sandoval and Richard Garza; grandson Gabriel Garza; sisters in law Lupe Porras and Marilyn Sandoval; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years Ramona, twin infants Mary and Edward, his parents Diodoro and Claudia, sister Josephine, brothers Cornelius and John.
Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was a 1941-42 baseball season inductee in the Kewanee High School Hall of Fame in his hometown of Kewanee, IL. Joseph retired from Inland Steel after 25 years of service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. Patrick Church 3802 Grand Blvd East Chicago with Fr. David Nowak officiating. Joseph will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of mass. At rest Chapel Lawn Cemetery Schererville. Friends may visit with the family on Friday October 17, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville.
