Juan P. Garcia, age 74, of Portage, Indiana, passed away on October 10, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1951, in San Benito, Texas, to the late Crispin and Aurora Garcia.

Juan is survived by his loving daughters, Jennifer Rodriguez and Evangelina (Antwone) Garcia; his cherished grandchildren, Evelyn "ChinChin" Ramirez, Adrian "Flaco" Rodriguez, Emily "Mousey" Ramirez, Anissa "Leché" Rodriguez, David "Chato" Ramirez, and Alexander "Kimo" Rodriguez; along with nine adored great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Ernestina (Allen) Smith, Cristela (Martin) Corona, Leticia (Emilo) Lopez, Claudio (Virginia) Garcia, Rene (Sonia) Garcia, and Armando Garcia. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leopoldo Garcia and Amado Garcia.

Juan worked for 20 years at Inland Steel Mill before fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a long-haul truck driver. He later retired from Indiana Sugar Company. A devoted family man, Juan's greatest joy came from being surrounded by his loved ones. He was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys, loved Tejano music, and proudly dedicated time to coaching his daughters' softball teams. Known for his playful spirit and sharp sense of humor, Juan always brought laughter and warmth to those around him.

He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in all who knew him.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 PM.
