June Metrick

age 91, of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 11, 2017. June is survived by her children; son, Michael (Cookie) Metrick; daughter, Candace Metrick; grandchildren, Julie (Brian) Olenik, Dr. Michael (Stephanie) Metrick; six great grandchildren, Anabella, Avery, and Amelia June Olenik; Andrew, Nikolas, and Elena Metrick; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Michael Metrick; mother, Martyne Johnston-Westerfield; father, M.H. (Ruby) Westerfield; and brother, William Hayden Westerfield.

June was a graduate of Hammond High School and a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Church. The family wishes to sincerely thank her loving caregivers; Barbara, Melissa, and India who made it possible to live comfortably at home.  And the wonderful nursing care and support of  Melissa D. RN over these past many years. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Nicholas Church would be appreciated.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 8103 Columbia Ave., Munster, IN with the Very Reverend Fr. Steven Koplinka officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. June will be laid to rest at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
