Karen S. Garibay  (nee Saltanovitz)

Age 59, of Griffith, IN, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Ramon "Ray"; children, Susan (Michael) Oslos of Greenwood, IN, Marisa "Marcie" Davenport of Schererville, IN, Ramon (Samantha) Garibay of Highland, IN, Tim Garibay of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Maddox, Aidan, Evan, Alaina and Ramon; mother in law, Guadalupe (late Ramon) Garibay; siblings, Alex (Dorothy) Saltanovitz, Diana (Dean Bradley) Saltanovitz, Joanne (Jeff) Knutson, Jim (Sara) Saltanovitz, John (Leah) Saltanovitz, Mary (Jeff) Markowicz; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Dorothy Saltanovitz.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375 (corner Main & Kennedy) from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Andrew Corona officiating. There will be a short visitation at 10:00 AM prior to the service. A private burial will take place at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville, IN at a later date.

Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother "Yaya", sister, daughter and friend. She will be forever loved and always missed. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at The Northwest Oncology and Community Hospital 5 ^th Floor West Wing Oncology Department for their compassionate care and support.
