Kathleen "Kathy" A. Szany (nee Palma)

age 65, of Hammond, IN passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Gerry; son, William; sister Jackie (Bob) Jakubowicz; and brothers, Leo (Susan), Robert, Dominick, and Rich (Laura) Palma; three precious grandchildren: Hailey and Emily Kmak, and Abigail Szany. Preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Laura Palma.

Kathy was a 1975 graduate of Clark High School and a lifelong member of the 101 ^st Airborne Association. She enjoyed concerts, traveling, and the local casinos. Kathy worked in the gift shop and smoke shop at the Horseshoe Casino and was also a local hairdresser.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 7109 Calumet Ave., HAMMOND, IN. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 29 DIRECTLY AT St. Casimir Church, 4340 Johnson Ave, Hammond, IN 46327, with Fr. Eduardo Malagon officiating. Kathy will lie-in-state at the church from 10:30 AM until time of services. Services conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area or Shriners Children's Hospital.
