Kathleen "Kathy" Hoess (nee Mauch)

age 85, of Hammond, IN and Koontz Lake, IN, passed away peacefully on Christmas Sunday, December 25, 2022. She is survived by her loving children Frank (Angela) Hoess, Jeanna (Scott) Ivey, Mary (Robert) Koscielniak, Joseph (Nirin) Hoess and April (James) Sanchez; her nine grandchildren Edsel, Sarah, Cameron, Heidi, Michael, Rebecca, Andrew, Augustin and Bethany; and her sister Elaine (late, Earl) Grove.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis "Gus" Hoess; and her sister Ruth Mauch CSC.

Kathy was a long-time Hammond resident who attended All Saints grade school and Bishop Noll Institute. She taught Language Arts for many years at Kahler Middle School in Dyer, IN. She loved to entertain family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 9:00 -10:00 am at St. John Bosco Church, 7113 Columbia Avenue, Hammond, with the funeral Mass immediately following at 10:00 am. Services conclude at the church. Memorial donations may be made in Kathleen's name to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund at www.cscsisters.org .
