Kathryn L. Guzman (nee Jimenez)

Age 64, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 23, 2024.  She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Albert; daughters, Elizabeth Guzman and Lisa (Martin) Beehn; precious grandchildren: Elliott Beehn, Judith Beehn, and Vivian Davis; siblings: Tony Jimenez, Jeffrey (Margie) Jimenez, Christina (David) Hunter; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Leola Jimenez; and siblings: Mary (still living, Louie) Ortiz, Michael Jimenez, Robert Jimenez, and Steven (still living, Brandy) Jimenez.

Kathy was a 1978 graduate of Bishop Noll Institute. She had a passion for antiquing, always on the hunt for treasures. Together with her sister, they transformed old furniture into cherished pieces full of character and charm. She was also a skilled crafter, pouring her heart into handmade creations.

Kathy was an avid fan of paranormal shows and even joined a ghost hunting club. Her curiosity for the unknown brought her endless intrigue and made for fascinating stories. She was also a dedicated animal lover and spent countless hours volunteering at the Schererville animal control.

One of Kathy's greatest joys was spending time with her family. She adored playing video games with her grandchildren and delighted in family game nights. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 3, directly at St. Mary Catholic Church, 525 N. Broad St., Griffith, IN 46319. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN.
