Keith E.
Trivette
May 13, 1972 — Sep 9, 2026
Schererville
His life was far too short, but it was filled with love, laughter, friendship and memories.
Keith Trivette, age 54, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. His life was far too short, but it was filled with love, laughter, friendship and memories. He may no longer be here to make us laugh, but his stories and jokes will keep him with us always.
If you knew Keith, you knew one thing for certain – you were going to laugh. He was, without a doubt, one of the funniest people you could ever meet. His laugh, his sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone around him smile, will deeply be missed.
Keith was the best husband and an incredible step-dad. Although he was a step-dad by name, he never treated Madison, Brandon and Reagan as anything other than his own. He loved them fiercely, celebrated their accomplishments and was always there for them.
He had a passion for all the things that brought him happiness. . He was a lifelong Cubs fan, he looked forward to his annual Cubs road trips with Don and Jenny Bence. He was also a devoted IU fan and loved spending time on the golf course with his friends. Above all, he loved his trips to Disney World, where he could truly enjoy the magic of being there. He would be at the park when it opened and stayed until it closed. And, of course, no Disney trip was complete without an ice cream sandwich - or five!
Keith was born on May 13, 1972 to the late Bernard and Linda Trivette. Keith graduated from Merrillville High School in 1990 and then went on to trade school. He worked at Ogden Welding for over 30 years as a machinist.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Kelly Trivette (nee Orzechowicz), his 3 children, Madison (Mike) Barenie, Brandon (Emily) Price and Reagan (Hunter) Price; brother, Jeff (Hannah) Trivette; along with nieces and nephews: Jared, Morgan and Emma Trivette, and Kaitlyn and Tyler Krachenfels; sister-in-law, Kim (Mark) Krachenfels; mother-in-law, Linda Orzechowicz (late, father-in-law, Wally Orzechowicz); numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was blessed with an incredible group of friends who were family to him. Clint and Jamie Henry, Jack and Crystal DeHaven, Adrian and Sabrina Ramirez, Joe and Jodi Barker, Andrew and Kelly Shih and Nick and Jessica Corea. They traveled, shared countless game nights, and spent many days on the golf course.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave, Schererville, IN 46375. A Celebration of Life will begin at 7:00 PM. Services conclude at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
Keith was a great guy and loved his family and friends. He brought joy and laughter to those around him and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
