Kevin M. McCabe, age 63, of Hammond, IN died July 2, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Kevin is survived by his parents, Francis and Ramah McCabe; his sister, Debra (Richard) Austin; niece, Sarah Austin; niece, Elizabeth (Ted) Hanak; and great-niece, Kaia Hanak. He was preceded in death by his wife, April and their beloved dogs. Kevin was lucky to enjoy the love of many aunts, uncles and cousins, who were his friends as well as family. He will be missed by his special friends, Kathy Vargo, Charlie and Grace Coates, Greg Ward and anyone who had met him.

Kevin attended Hammond Public Schools and after graduation joined the Air Force where he became a Staff Sergeant. He then attended Northeast Missouri University receiving a degree in Criminal Justice. He was Director of Security at Chicago Place for several years and retired from Arcelor Mittal in 2021.

Kevin loved the outdoors and spent his free time fishing, hunting, camping and cycling with April and their Great Danes and Labrador Retrievers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Woodmar United Methodist Church with Pastor Pete Ward officiating. Visitation at the church will be held from 12:00 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodmar United Methodist Church or a project of your choice.
