Lanna Gail Shawver (nee Evans)

age 76, of Hammond, formerly of Kentucky, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 17, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Robert "Bob"; daughter, Regana (Rick) Nordyke; and precious grandchildren: Cassandra, Shawn, Richard III, Ashley, Kendra, and Jason. Preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Shawver; parents, Bill and Maxine Evans, and brothers and sisters.

Lanna spent many years of her life as a dedicated waitress, leaving a lasting impression on patrons at Olympia Family Restaurant in East Chicago and Petro's Restaurant in Hammond. She enjoyed embracing the thrill of chance at the casinos and had a love for literature where she would often delve into the pages of countless books. In addition, Lanna absolutely adored camping with her grandkids.  Her presence will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and anyone who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., HAMMOND, IN. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 23, at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Jeffrey D. Burton officiating. Burial to follow at St. John St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN.
