Larry A. Hamm

age 76, of Hammond, IN passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022.  He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Michele (nee Milakovic); son Brett (Alyssa) Hamm; grandchildren: Olivia, Dominquié, Gabriella, Yeion, Julissa, and Alondra; one great-grandson Moses; sister-in-laws Maxine Hamm, Mary Joe (late, Nate) Wyche, Martha (Charles) Brunson and Malanie (Jim) Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Herman and Grace Hamm; sister Marcella Reel; and brother William Hamm.

Larry was a 1964 graduate of Hammond High School. Then in 1968 he went on to receive his bachelor's degree in the first graduating class of Indiana University Northwest. Larry was a volunteer firefighter and one of the very first EMTs in Munster. He was also a police commissioner in Munster. Larry went on to own and operate several businesses: Lorenzo's Italian Villa in Munster, Fascinations Gift Shop in Munster, Micheli's Deli in Griffith, Larry's Sports Cards in Lowell, and a cleaning business. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375 with a Parastas at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 24, 2022 DIRECTLY at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 8103 Columbia Ave., Munster, IN with Fr. Steven Koplinka officiating. Larry will lie in state at the church from 9:00 AM until time of service. Burial to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
