Laura Ellen Marshall (nee Stemp)

age 61, of Rockford, MN formerly of Griffith and Hammond, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. Laura is survived by her loving husband William P. Marshall Jr. and son Matthew A. Terhorst; sister Louise (Andrew) Mansfield; niece Jennifer (Shane) and her sons Eamon and John; sisters-in-law Margaret Marshall and her daughters Sandra and Gail; Colleen Marshall and her son Christopher. Preceeded in death by her parents Edward and Evelyn Stemp and parents in law William and Nell Marshall Sr.

Laura was employed for over 20 years by American Maize (Cargill).  She enjoyed gardening, playing with her pets and was an avid hiker who loved the outdoors. One of her favorite places to hike with Bill was on the beautiful Northshore of Lake Superior. She enjoyed skiing and was a member of Chicago Friars Ski Club. Most of all Laura cherished the time spent with her loving family.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond.  Funeral services will begin on Saturday, January 7, 2017 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 AM at St. John Bosco Catholic Church 7113 Columbia Ave Hammond with Fr. Richard Orlinski officiating. Laura will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.
