Lina Arreza Carlos,

age 68, of Munster, IN, passed away on Thursday May 22, 2014. Lina is survived by her two daughters; Maria (Brent) Anderson of Lisle, IL, Lia (Adam) Roby of Chicago; 5 sons, Carlos (Jeanine) of Long Grove, IL, Victor (Brenda) of Denver, CO, Vincent (Ana) of Seattle, WA, Luigi (Lety) of Chicago, IL, Christopher (fiancee, Andrew) of San Francisco, CA; 6 grandchildren, Sonoma, Vivian, Lily, Griffin, Violetta, and Georgia; sister, Celia and brothers, Alfonso, and Vicente all of the Philippines. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Antonio Carlos.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2014, 12:00 noon DIRECTLY at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321 with Rev. Michael J. Yadron officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 11:30 AM until time of Service. Lina will be laid to rest at Memory Lane Cemetery, Schererville, IN. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375 (Corner Main & Kennedy) from 3-8 PM, with a 3:30 PM prayer service.

Lina graduated from PWU High School in 1962 as Salutatorian, President of her class, and officer of the student council. She then received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from University of the Philippines in 1966 where she wrote for the college paper and formed a singing band with four of her friends called The Ribbonettes. She worked at Pacific Bank as a teller where she met her future husband soon after graduation. She spent her career in banking and finance, working at PDIC in Manila and then at Northern Trust Bank and CNA Insurance in Chicago. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, and caring for her grandchildren. She served as Treasurer and later President of the PPA and was a parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Munster.
