Linda "Lynn" Jean Furtek nee Specyal

age 69, of Crown Point, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016. Linda is survived by her husband of 41 years Joseph; children: Nicholas (Justine) Furtek, Mandy (Matt) Carton and Holly Furtek; grandchildren: Leah, Ben, Zachary, Levi and Lydia; siblings: Susan (John) LaBelle, Karen Specyal, Nancy (Jim) Vennergrund and David (Tammy) Specyal; brother-in-law Gene (Naomi) Furtek; sisters-in-law Sandy Grutzius and Rose (Ed) Wegrzyn; aunts Florence Wiertick and Aurelia Weinthaler; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents Norman and Adeline Specyal, nephews; John Norman LaBelle and Jason David Specyal, her beloved aunts and uncles, and her puppies Toby and Jesse.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 beginning with 9:30 AM prayers at the funeral home for a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church 1 W. Wilhelm St. Schererville, IN with Fr. Martin Dobrzynski officiating. Cremation at Solan Pruzin to follow.

Lynn was a lifelong devout Catholic. She was employed as a Phlebotomist and worked at various hospitals over her 30-year career and retired from Community Hospital. Lynn was the life of the party and had a heart for adventure. A love of travel led her to explore with her sisters and visited Alaska, Mexico and Europe. She lived life to the fullest, never let anything hold her back and was able to check quite a bit off of her bucket list. Most of all Lynn cherished the time spent with her dear family, especially her grandbabies. We will miss this amazing woman and hold her memory deep within our hearts.
