Lisa M. Loughridge
age 53, of Portage, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2024. Lisa is survived by her mother, Marcella Loughridge; brave and loving son, Alex Kosin; sisters, Lauren Loughridge and Kelli (Alan) Nossem; beloved fiance Mark Chmielewski; uncles, Eddie Worosz and Greg (Debbie) Worosz; precious niece, Carissa Granados; and several cousins she grew up with. She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Loughridge; maternal grandparents, Edward and Leona Worosz; paternal grandparents, Ken and Millie Rowland; and several other dear family members. She was greeted at the Rainbow Bridge by her cat Skitz, her dogs Penny, Koko, and Domino, and many other dear pets.

Lisa was a 1989 graduate of Bishop Noll Institute and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Purdue University. A courageous soul, Lisa participated in the Susan G. Koham Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk three times, her final time as a breast cancer survivor. Lisa relished being in the sunshine, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and found peace in nature. A champion for animals, Lisa never met a stray in need that she didn't help. Lisa will be remembered for her love of Eeyore, the show Friends, tie-dye clothes, all things yellow, her fiery red hair, and her dazzling smile.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., HAMMOND, IN.
