Lois Jean Nowlin (nee Demerling)

Age 75, of Hammond, IN passed away Friday, July 28, 2017.  She is survived by her loving daughters, Marie (Timothy) Bishop of Merrillville, Susan Langwinski of Hammond, and Nancy Craft of Hobart; 8 grandchildren, Roy (Marissa), Ryan, Russell (Tonya), Christopher, Nicholas, John, Zachary, and William; 12 great grandchildren, Kyle, Neal, Amy, Jake, Christopher , Kylie, Nicoal, Adriana, Alexis, Zachary Jr., Zoey, and Payton; and 2 sisters, Mary (late Fred) Black and Helen Deziel. Lois is preceded in death by her husbands, John Smith and Dennis Nowlin; and son Walter Anderson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN (corner of Kennedy and Main) 46375.  Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service. Lois will be laid to rest directly after at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville, IN.

Lois was a Daycare Teacher for over 27 years at Greater Hammond Community Service Daycare.  She was a member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church of  Hammond.  Lois loved spending time with her grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
