LUCIA "LUCY" MAGNETTA
age 94, of Schererville, formerly Hammond, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015. Lucy is survived by her children Diana (late Terry) Hector and John J. (Kathy) Magnetta; grandchildren: Tracy (Chris) Gerber, Douglas (Tara) Hector, Amanda (Tate) Ottati, Anthony (Angel) Magnetta, Serena Magnetta and John J. (Bari) Magnetta; great grandchildren: Maggie Lucia, Jacob, J.C., Kaven, Rina, Rosemary, Wolfie, Gino and Giovanni; many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years John L. Magnetta, two brothers and three sisters.
Lucy was a former parishioner of St. John Bosco Church and a dedicated member of Fitness Pointe. The family would like to thank everyone at Fitness Pointe for their love and kindness. Lucy was a wonderful cook and was always willing to help others. She was a true matriarch, a mother to many and a friend to all.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 6:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville with Fr. Richard Orlinski officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
