LUCILLE H. YORK nee DEDO

Age 85, of Dyer, formerly of Hammond, went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 15, 2014. Beloved wife of Cecil, who preceded her in death in 1990. Survived by four loving children: Mike (Jeanette) York, Patty (Bill) O'Neill, Carol (Bob) Buckmaster and Karen (Ed) Searcy; loving grandchildren: Billy, Kevin, Jeff, Meghan, Michelle, Melanie and Holly; precious great granddaughter Madysen; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Mom's caregiver Judy. Lucille was also preceded in death by her parents Nick and Stella; brothers Joe, Stanley, Jerry and Henry.

Lucille was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She helped to raise her grandkids and was very involved in their lives. Lucille was an excellent cook, she would make stuffed cabbage and pierogies, among other things and loved to feed her family at Sunday dinners. In their younger years Lucille and Cecil enjoyed bowling and later would take yearly trips to Las Vegas. Lucille would visit the local casinos and was an avid bingo player along with her buddy Chris. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 19, 2014 beginning with 10:00 AM Prayers at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond for a 10:30 AM Mass at St. John Bosco Church with Fr. Terry Steffens officiating. At rest St. John Cemetery Hammond. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday June 18, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Wake service 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Lucille's honor may be made to the charity of your choice.
