Luis Garcia

Age 69, of Calumet City, IL passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Luis is survived by his loving wife Andrea; children: Jose Garcia, Humberto (Eladia) Garcia, Guadalupe Garcia, and Gumercindo (Lisa) Garcia; granddaughters: Clarissa Garcia and Cassandra Garcia; and brothers and sisters. Preceded in death by parents, Dario Garcia and Reducinda Garcia (nee Jimenes) and two brothers.

Luis was born in Mexico and was known to be a very hard worker. He held various jobs throughout his life and worked hard at each one. He loved to tinker with cars and also enjoyed good meals. Luis will be remembered for being a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. John St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated. Those attending visitation and service are required to wear masks and to follow social distancing protocol.
