Luke T. Rhoades

age 20, was called by the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2023. Luke is survived by his loving parents, Joseph T. and Bernadette Rhoades; sister, Leia Rhoades; and many dear family members.

Luke was a 2021 graduate of Highland High School. Luke enlisted in the Army as a Combat Medic Specialist and was stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. As a medic, he was assigned to the 0013 Field Artillery Alpha Battalion 03 HHS MLRS. Luke enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was camping or staging nerf gun battles at the barracks. He also appreciated music and Legos and was an avid Star Wars fan.  Luke had planned to become a firefighter/paramedic after his Army career.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 14 DIRECTLY at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave, Highland, IN with Fr. Gregory Bim-Merle officiating. Luke will lie in state at the church Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Burial to follow at Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Cedar Lake, IN.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Gary Sinise Foundation: www.garysinisefoundation.org
