Lydia R. Carrillo (nee Rosas)

age 62, of Munster, IN, formerly of East Chicago, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Lydia is survived by her husband, Angelo; loving daughter and son, Valerie (Alejandro) Mendez and Anthony (Kenya) Carrillo; precious grandchildren, Xochitl Mendez and Madeline L. Carrillo; siblings, Enocencio (Arlene) Garcia, Genoveva (Miguel) Ramirez, Cayetano (late, Helen) Garcia, Hermelinda (Jesse) Gonzalez, Anita (Richard) Rivera; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Francisco D. Rosas and Carmen R. Rosas.

Lydia was a 1979 graduate of Bishop Noll Institute. She found joy in tending to her garden as well as cooking, baking, and crafting. She was a hard worker for many years at the Highland post Office until she retired. Lydia was a deeply religious person and was a member of St. Thomas More.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 5:00 PM prayer service. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, DIRECTLY at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8501 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN 46321. Lydia will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. Services conclude at the church.
