age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Marcella is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Donald L. Babcock; daughters Robyn (Rich) Marshall and Debra (Mike) Graham; grandsons Erik (Lori) Hocott and Christopher (Stephanie) Hocott; stepsons Don (Sue) Babcock and Dean Babcock; six great grandchildren; siblings: Elaine Pecher Oglesby, Corinne Pecher Mahns, W. Joanie Pecher Dryer, Wayne F. Pecher; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter Keli Fannin and stepson David Babcock.

Marcie was a graduate of Hammond H.S. and, like many women of her era, worked as an Operator for Illinois Bell right out of high school. After leaving Illinois Bell, Marcella was employed by Zayre's  Department Store as Fabric Manager for a time and then retired after 15 years of service as a bus driver for an Illinois School District. Marcie was an avid bowler and loved to dance. A gifted and passionate artist, Marcella exercised her natural born talent through many mediums but especially excelled at painting animals and landscapes.

Friends may gather to celebrate Marcella on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond, IN.  A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 PM with Dc. Raymond Helfen officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Marcella's honor may be made to Dunes Hospice or a charity of your choice.
