Margaret Jean Stugis nee Boettcher "Peggy"

age 65, of Munster, formerly Hammond, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Peggy is survived by children Amy (Brian) Colwell and Eric Stugis; granddaughter Abigail Stugis; sisters Mary Ann Fehring and Nancy (late William) Isenberg-Begeske; nieces and nephews: Karen (Kenny) Isenberg-Walls, Mark J. (Michele) Fehring, Michael (Cathy) Isenberg and Lisa (Keith) Sims; many great nieces and nephews and cousins; father of her children Anthony Stugis; puppy Bazzle. Preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Grace Boettcher, uncle Fred Dempsey, aunts Kathryn Burns and Eileen Jarnecke, puppy Eon.

Peggy was born in Hammond, attended St. John Bosco Grade School and graduated from Gavit High. She retired from Solan's Greenhouse in Hammond after 25 years of service as their Floral Designer. Born with a green thumb, Peggy not only used her talents in her career but tended to her beautiful garden at home. Peggy was a woman of great faith, praying The Rosary every day and volunteering at St. Thomas More Parish in Munster as a Sacristan for many years. She cherished the time spent with family, especially the holidays with her favorite being the Fourth of July when she threw memorable parties. Peggy's pride and joy was her granddaughter Abigail. We will miss her wonderful sense of humor, her generous nature and her kind heart.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville with Fr. Edward Moszur officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 1:00-5:00 PM. Peggy will be laid to rest privately at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
