With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Maria (Grandma Red) Kessinger, age 78 on September 10th, 2024. Maria is survived by her children, Debra Kloc and Ann Marie Kessinger; her sister, Irene (Clifford) Kloc; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by her husband Richard Kessinger; her son Eugene Havill; her brothers Joe Tyra and John Wasiutyk, and her parents.

She retired early due to health issues from Taudum and Queen Anns. Maria was an eccentric woman with an adventurous spirit. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and was happiest to spend her time in their presence. She enjoyed many chats about her wild antics and catching up with her family and friends. She was rarely seen without a four-legged companion, whom she took great joy in doting on. Maria will be remembered fondly for her hilarious voicemails, her signature red hair, and her love for her family. The funeral will be held privately, remembering Maria in the presence of close family.
