MARTHA A. BILLINGSLEY
age 72, of Griffith, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016. Martha is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Wayne; grandchildren: Ryan, Dylan and Mattie Anderson; great granddaughter Rilynn Anderson; siblings: Myrtle (late Robert) Downs, Floyd (Retha) Demps, Reba (Lee) Crass and Richard (Margaret) Demps; sons-in-law Ben Anderson and Jimi Jelenski; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many good friends. Waiting to welcome Martha to Heaven are her daughters Tamara Anderson and Nikki Jelenski; siblings: Marvin Demps, Alvin Demps and Aline Smith; parents Mattie and Vasco Demps.
Martha was a lifetime member of The Church of God of Prophecy. She had a lifelong love of music and was a skilled pianist, playing piano for her church for over 20 years. Martha retired from Bishop Noll after 23 years of service. She enjoyed cooking for her family and they will miss her cornbread dressing and fried chicken especially. Most of all Martha cherished the time spent with her loving family.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at Church of God of Prophecy Abundant Life Community Church 6808 Missouri Ave Hammond, IN with Pastor Michael White officiating. Martha will be laid to rest on Friday at Weston Cemetery in Rensselaer, IN.
