Mary E. Burke (nee Jones)

Age 85, of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Charles Burke; devoted daughters, Tracey (Jeffrey) Levandoski and Ellen (Tim) Scholte; precious granddaughters, Jaimie (Chris) Griffith and Valarie (Mohamed) Elashrafi; two great-grandchildren, Madison Griffith and Adam Elashrafi; sister, Allena (late, Donald) Tolley; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Elza and Sarah "Tootie" Jones (nee Hansman); and brother Floyd (Ruby) Jones.

Mary was a 1955 graduate of Crossville High School and owned and operated Robinson's Grocery Store in Belle Rive, Illinois. She enjoyed reading, embroidering, and crocheting. Above all else, she adored spending time with her family, especially caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 13, 2023 DIRECTLY AT Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307. Solan Pruzin Funeral Home entrusted with services.
