Mary L. Howe

Mary Louise Howe, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on 12/21/2024 at the age of 91. She was born in Kynesville, Florida on August 7, 1933 to Lessie Mae Pitts and Grover Cleveland Morris.

Louise married the love of her life, Raymond A. Howe Jr. in 1951 and was a devoted wife for 68 years before his passing in 2019.

Louise always put her family and friends first and was always there for them, no matter what. She was a kind and compassionate person who always had a smile on her face. You were always loved and welcome and well fed in her home.

Louise was an avid game player including card games, dominoes and aggravation.

Louise was a founding member of Ridge United Methodist Church and was an active member for over 60 years. Her faith was very important to her. She was also an avid square dancer with Buttons and Bows.

Louise is survived by her five children, Michael Howe (Genevieve), Nancy Martin (Hobart), Cindy Zilai (Daniel), Terri Kreloff (Jeff) and Tim Howe (Mary),  her ten grandchildren, Madeleine, James, Angela, Stephanie, Bobby, Eric, Robert, Raymond, Katherine, Margaret, nine great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Leola Brannon (Charles).

Louise was a loving, caring and spiritual woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family and friends will cherish the memories of her forever.

A Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375. A service Celebrating Mary's Life will be held at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridge United Methodist Church in Munster.      https://ridgeumc.org/give/
