Mary Ann Vanes (nee Dutko)

age 89, of Schererville, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022 three days short of her 90 ^th birthday.  Mary Ann is survived by her two loving children, Renee (Mark) Harangody and Michael Vanes; grandchildren: Jennifer Jocic, Matt Harangody; and Steven (Brittney) Vanes, Brandon (Carli) Vanes; precious great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Emma and Phillip; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Norman "Dean" Vanes; dear granddaughter, Amber Vanes; brother, John "Jr." Dutko; and sisters Charlene (late, Michael) Madura and Betty (late, Jim) Semanick.

Mary Ann loved to travel and boating with her husband Dean. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be dearly missed.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Avenue Schererville, IN, from 4:00PM – 8:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 10:30 AM directly at St. Michael Church, 1 Wilhelm Street, Schererville, IN, with Rev. Martin J. Dobrzynski officiating. Burial of Mary Ann and her husband Norman will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
