MaryAnn J. Csonka
age 76, of Schererville, formerly Hammond, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016. MaryAnn is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Ronald J. Csonka, her "Poppy Darling"; brother Stanley (late Denise) Szubert "Shoobies"; nieces and nephews: Steve (Ann) Szubert, Cheryl (Tom) Neylon, Jeffrey (Sue) Szubert and Ken (Chris) Szubert; great nieces and nephews: Laura, Amanda, Christopher, Megan, Rebecca, Kevin, Jeffrey, Adam and Allison; extended family and many good friends. Preceded in death by her parents Julia and Stanley, stepfather Alphons and nephew Jerry Szubert.
MaryAnn was devoted to her family and spent her life caring for and nurturing them. A woman of incredible faith, MaryAnn always had EWTN on the television, was dedicated to her church and volunteered countless hours to St. John Bosco Parish. She had an innocent soul and generous heart that knew no bounds. Whether it was the hours spent with Ron sitting in his fishing boat in Wisconsin waiting for him to "catch the big one", the time spent playing Bingo at the nursing home with her beloved brother Stan or her special Christmas prayer train, the warmth and joy MaryAnn brought to our family is immeasurable.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. John Bosco Catholic Church 7113 Columbia Ave Hammond, IN with Fr. Richard Orlinski officiating. MaryAnn will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time of mass. Cremation to follow. Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory entrusted with arrangements 219-322-7766
