Michael J. Dankovis
age 67, of Hammond, IN, passed away after a long health battle on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Susan S. Dankovis (nee Bruhns); sisters, Donna (late, Larry) Podobinski, Cathy Askew, Judy Blankenship and Carol (Thomas) Magurany; mother-in-law, Judith Bruhns; in-laws, Chris (Ken) Rilki, Thomas Bruhns and David (Maria) Bruhns; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by parents, Ben and Marge Dankovis; father-in-law, Melvyn Bruhns; and precious four-legged companion, Keesha, who meant the world to him.
Michael was a graduate of Bishop Noll Institute. He worked at Community Radio in Highland for several years and had a passion for electronics repair and home theater design. He worked for other businesses as well and the staff were forlorn when he wasn't be able to work anymore due to a disability. He was a sports enthusiast and loved to play basketball. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, flying his collection of remote drone/helicopters, and traveling to different amusement parks as a roller coaster enthusiast. Michael was known for finding solutions to problems for other people and will be dearly missed and cherished by all who knew him.
