Michael R. Sinchar II

age 64, of Schererville, formerly of Hammond, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Donna (nee Jusko); son, Michael R. Sinchar III; step-daughters, Angela (Bobby) Figueroa and Michele Klut; and precious grandchildren: Ayden Figueroa, Jasmine Wolff, and Erin Wolff. Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Lottie Sinchar.

Michael's love for NASCAR and Formula 1 racing was evident throughout his life and he would spend countless hours working on the family cars. He enjoyed his travels to Mackinac Island with his family.

Michael had a  passion for lighthouses, as evidenced by his extensive collection, each piece a testament to his admiration for these beacons of hope and guidance.

The other loves of his life were his dogs. Lady the miniature pinscher and Zoe the dachshund were absolutely adored by Michael. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 16, at the funeral home, with Pastor Michael Hefner officiating. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
