Michael Ismael Rodriguez
Age 20, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
Michael is survived by his loving parents, Ismael (Christine) Rodriguez and Christina (David Copeland) Yost; dear siblings, Jacob, Joshua, Sonny, Eric, Leilany, Mariela, and Evelina; devoted grandparents, Ismael Jr. and Norka Rodriguez; fraternal grandparents, Kimberly Rodriguez and Feliz Roselaz; maternal grandparents, Maria Vasquez and David Yost; loving niece Ariana and nephew Josiah; beloved girlfriend Nevaeh Salas; and several dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his cherished cousins, Michael and Marc Vidaurri.
Michael was a loyal brother, a true friend, a protector, and a one-of-a-kind soul.
He was the kind of person who loved hard, stood strong, and showed up for the people who mattered to him. If you were lucky enough to be loved by him, you never had to question where you stood. He would protect you, defend you, and have your back without hesitation.
He was a hard worker, an honest man, and someone you could trust with your deepest secrets. He had a smile that could brighten a room and a sense of humor that came naturally. He didn't have to try to be funny; it was just who he was. His laughter, his jokes, and the little things he did will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
And then there was his sleeping… Let's just say he took his rest VERY seriously! This man could sleep through just about anything. You could have a whole family meeting, rearrange the furniture, and possibly start a construction project beside him, and he'd still be peacefully dreaming. Waking him up was practically a full-time job!
But beyond the jokes, the smiles, and the laughter was a man with a big heart. A man who loved his people fiercely, worked hard, kept his word, and made others feel safe simply by being there.
You were loved deeply, you will be missed endlessly, and you will never be forgotten.
He graduated from Griffith High School in 2024 and worked with Hoekstra Heating & Air Conditioning. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games, going to the gym, and listening to music. He had a special love for taking care of his beloved pet, "Bunny." Above all, Michael cherished the time he spent with his brothers and sisters and his beloved niece, creating memories that will forever be treasured by those who loved him.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 9, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN 46375.
