Nicholas Jaroslav Borden, age 99.9 of Flossmoor, IL, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Schilke Borden; sons: Britt, Erich (Sandra), and Nevin Borden; grandchildren: Amber Williams (Jonathan), Thomas Fakadej, and Devin Borden; nieces: Zorianne Hyworon Bozyk (Eugene) and Lisa Bozyk; nephew, Orest (Anna) Bozyk; grandnephews, Demyan and Darius; and seven great-grand nephews and grand-nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Mychailo and Alexandra Bozyk; and brothers, Wolodymyr and Alex; and sisters Iwanna and Eugenia.

Nicholas enjoyed his time on the farm in Michigan harvesting apples and walnuts, clearing trees, and enjoying the outdoors with his family. He also loved his dogs (Annie and Jessica). His last words were to express his love for his family.  He will be remembered as a hard-working father and husband who loved both Ukraine and America.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 10, 2022 directly at St. Josephat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 8624 White Oak Ave, Munster, IN 46321 with Reverend Volodymyr Kushnir officiating. An open casket viewing will be held from 10:30 AM until time of service. Services conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nicholas' memory to Help-Us-Help charity providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine. Vichnaya Pamyat. May his Memory be Eternal.
