PAUL A. BALUNDA

Paul Balunda, 60, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday, January 12, 2018.  He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan and their two Boyz – Alex and Sampson; God Child, "Princess Bridgette;" brothers: Michael (Janice) Balunda of Valparaiso, Richard (Michele Bonneau) Balunda of Ogden Dunes, David Balunda of Hurst, TX;  sister Margaret (Mark) Baumgardner of Crown Point; numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Michael and Mary Balunda, sister JoAnn Balunda and Susan's grandparents who considered him one of their grandchildren, John and Regina Pachniak; and his special buddies, all his dogs: Rex, Sam, Mack, Hank and Tyson.

Paul was employed at Indiana Steel, ATEC and Associates, Bucko Construction, and K-5 Construction Company.  In recent years he was self employed and started Black Dog Consultants, LLC and Custom Car Repair.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, racing cars, NASCAR, working on one of his many cars, gardening, cooking, vacation - traveling and taking care of animals.  Paul was a Ducks Unlimited sponsor for The Big Lake Chapter in Demotte, the South Suburban Chapter and of The Big Duck.  He was a terrific friend to everyone and helped whoever he could in their time of need, regardless of what they needed. Paul was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm.  A prayer and "Memory Share Time' will be from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.  In order to Celebrate Paul's life, you are invited to wear camouflage, NASCAR, etc anything that represented what Paul meant to you.  He will have a private burial for his family.
