PAUL E. BLAIR JR.

age 83, of Hammond, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016. Survived by children: John, Paula, Maureen, Robert, Patrick (Tracy), Tim (Veronica) and Charles (Jackie) Blair; grandchildren: Jason (Elizabeth), Jennifer (Tim) Gorszczyk, Sarah, Nicole (Chris) Thomas, Cassie Manzi, TJ Manzi, Megan (Jose) Tiscareno, Amanda, Marissa, Austin, Jared and Sydney; nine great grandchildren; sister Jane Ann Kohl; stepson Phil Klein; five step grandchildren; Preceded in death by his loving wife Peggy, brother Charles L. Blair, parents Paul E. Sr. and Janet Blair and stepdaughter Barb Whitfield.

Paul was a 1955 graduate of John Carroll University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from LTV in 1999 after 44 dedicated years of hard work. Paul was a longtime member of the American Legion Maywood Post #126 in Hammond.

A mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 12:00 PM DIRECTLY at St. John Bosco Catholic Church 7113 Columbia Ave Hammond with Fr. Richard Orlinski officiating. Paul will lie in state at the church from 11:30 AM until time of mass. At rest Elmwood Cemetery Hammond. Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory entrusted with arrangements 219-322-7766. In lieu of flowers donations in Paul's honor may be made to the Humane Society or the VA.
